I have always been in awe of the beauty and magnificence of Peacocks.  Their ostentatious manner as they display their majestic and lustrous feathers is enthralling.  Preston was also inspired by my love of elegant oriental painted porcelain.  Chinese ceramics are full of a sympathetic love of nature .

I wanted to interpret the decorative oriental art by depicting a peacock combined with glorious flowers. The soft and feminine flowers on the painting magnify the natural beauty of the peacock.  The gold backdrop creates a glamorous setting for Preston to parade his attractive and magnificent plumage.

Peacocks symbolise good luck and protection and I hope that Preston encapsulates these qualities and gifts them to his new owner.
