Laila was inspired by a blustery winters walk over the somerset levels. Amid the long grasses I spotted a long crested wading bird and realised that I must have seen my first lapwing.
Lapwings or peewits as they are often known, look black and white from a distance, but up close, the back has a bright iridescent green and purple sheen. I wanted to depict the lapwings beautiful plumage in this artwork.
Laila is painted in beautiful blues, greens and purples which stand out from the glorious gold backdrop, which sparkles in bright light and glows in low light.
This enchanting painting evokes the feelings of wonderment and joy you get from spotting such a beautiful bird in nature. Laila is perfect for enriching any room with her elegance and beauty.

There is a restocking fee of 20% on all print returns as I do not carry stock.

Hi, I'm Becky an internationally recognised fine artist, devoted
mum to two incredible teenagers, and the proud owner of one lively canine

A few years ago, I rediscovered my passion for painting amidst the busyness of life as a paediatric physiotherapist. Since then, I've immersed myself in the world of art and honing my skills as a painter.
