Kiki the Kingfisher
Kiki was inspired by the unforgettable sight of a brilliantly coloured kingfisher darting along the small river that runs beside my garden.
A sudden flash of electric blue caught my eye — a fleeting, magical moment that stopped me in my tracks. This painting captures that rush of wonder and joy: the rare thrill of seeing one of nature’s most beautiful and vibrant birds up close.
The kingfisher’s vivid blues and warm orange tones sing against the glorious gold backdrop, creating a striking sense of light, movement and life. Finished with gold leaf, the piece sparkles in bright light and glows softly in lower light, bringing a feeling of luxury, elegance and quiet enchantment to any space.
