Hettie the Hare

This painting reflects my imagination of a spring hare who is keeping an eye on it's surroundings, being on vigilant watch.

I have always loved hares and how their inquisitive heads pop up in the long grass in the countryside.  One night I stood in my garden and was mesmerised by the radiant spring moon. May's full moon is often known as the flower moon thanks to the abundant blooming that occurs as Spring is in it's glory.  Other names for the May moon include the hare moon.  Hettie is a striking and loveable  hare, who stands on watch in front of a gold spring moon.

The sumptuous colours of the hare stand out from the glorious gold moon.  Gold leaf sparkles in bright light and glows in lower light, oozing luxury and elegance.  This painting is enchanting, joyful and enriches any decor!
