Estelle the Kingfisher

Estelle was inspired by a kingfisher I saw one day in Spring.  The kingfisher flew along the river which runs along our garden.  I was mesmerised as I watched it perch on a branch, remaining perfectly still and intent.  It swiftly dived down into the water to catch a fish and hastily flew off.  The flash of blue and orange of the bird was eyecatching and enthralling.

On the other side of the river a beautiful magnolia was in full bloom. Witnessing this magical moment immediately filled me with joy and I felt compelled to catch this glorious scene on canvas.

Estelle is an impressive and captivating painting with a real WOW factor! The glorious gold leaf creates a radiant and luxurious backdrop.  The vibrant kingfisher and magnolia flowers really pop from the gold to create a striking painting.

Please Note: Colour varies from screen to screen and devices.   Colours are captured as accurately as possible.  The process of applying gold leaf involves an underlay of red paint, there may be very small areas where the red is visible.
